Today, we released an update for Tasty Links that adds a general disclosure option, makes styling the disclosures easier, and prevents self-referencing of links in posts. Watch the video below to learn more about these features, or read on below!
When it comes to affiliate links, it’s important to follow FTC disclosure rules and let your audience know when a link can help you earn income. Tasty Links always gave you the option to append a disclosure after each link to be extra clear.
After a number of requests, we’ve also added in the ability to add a general disclosure to any page with Tasty Links that have the disclosure turned on. This feature is shipping in version 0.4.0 of Tasty Links, out today! 🎉
Instead of disclosing after each link, you can now put a general disclosure letting your users know that some links are affiliate links.
This update also includes an improvement that prevents Tasty Links from self-referencing. That means that if a Tasty Link points to any page on your blog, that page won’t link up that keyword. So your cheese-making post won’t link to itself when you mention “how to make cheese” in the post itself! 💪
Easier disclosure styling
Finally, this update also includes some classes on the disclosure elements that makes styling them much easier. Learn how to style the disclosure text in our support document.
