It's nearly time!
The Gutenberg project has been in the works for well over a year now. Coders around the world have come together to create WordPress' new editing experience, dubbed Gutenberg after Johannes Gutenberg, the person who introduced the printing press to Europe.
Gutenberg is a massive, exciting change for publishing in WordPress. It will bring extended functionality and a more lifelike quality to the WordPress editing experience. If you aren't super familiar with Gutenberg, I'd recommend reading the introduction to Gutenberg on the WordPress.org site.
With this exciting new functionality comes a few hurdles for plugin developers. Any plugins that affect the editing experience in WordPress need to be modified – often extensively – to continue functioning properly in the new Gutenberg editing experience.
When will Gutenberg be released?
At the end of July 2018, WordPress 4.9.8 will be released with a call-to-action to try the new Gutenberg editing experience. If you don't want to try it out, then it will suggest installing the Classic Editor plugin, which will disable any Gutenberg functionality after it is included in Core.
Sometime in August 2018, or possibly after, WordPress 5.0 will be released with Gutenberg as the default editor. Anyone who has not installed the Classic Editor plugin will start publishing in the new Gutenberg editing experience.

Will WP Tasty plugins need to be modified to work with Gutenberg?
WP Tasty plugins do affect the WordPress editing experience.
Tasty Recipes adds a recipe shortcode to a post and gives the user a dialog in which they can fill out the recipe information. Tasty Pins adds a data-pin-description to image tags. Tasty Links shows link previews in the editor, which can be removed if desired.
This means that they will all need extensive development effort to function properly with Gutenberg.
Will WP Tasty plugins all work with Gutenberg?
Yep! By the time Gutenberg is shipped into WordPress Core in version 5.0, all WP Tasty plugins will be fully functional with Gutenberg.

Tasty Recipes is fully functional with the Gutenberg editor ?
We have visions of an amazing new editing experience for Tasty Recipes on Gutenberg, but the first iteration looks very similar to the Tasty Recipes experience in the Classic Editor.

Tasty Pins is fully functional with the Gutenberg editor as well! ?
The Tasty Pins experience with Gutenberg is largely the same, though the locations of some things has changed. If you can't find what you're looking for, reach out to our support team.
Tasty Links
Tasty Links is semi-functional with WordPress 4.9.8. The link previews in the editor will not be available, but auto-linking on the front-end will still happen.
By the time WordPress 5.0 is released, Tasty Links will be fully functional with the Gutenberg editor.
