We just released Tasty Recipes 2.3.0 with a few fun new updates. Here are a few things you'll find in this version:
Yoast SEO Schema API Integration ?
Yoast SEO recently introduced their Schema API, which generates structured data for your webpage as a whole. Plugin authors who generate structured data for other types of content – like recipes – can hook into this API to link all the structured data together in one big cohesive chunk.
And that's exactly what we've done! If you're using version 11+ of Yoast SEO, Tasty Recipes will automatically add the recipe structured data to the Yoast structured data.
If you're holding off on the Yoast update, not to worry. Tasty Recipes will still add the data to the page just like it did before.
Bug Fixes ?
Block Editor Converter Error
This update also includes a fix for an error that sometimes occurred after converting a recipe in the Block Editor. Recipes were converted just fine, but required a page refresh to get rid of the error. We patched this up and you can convert recipes without a problem again.
Cookbook Converter Update
We identified a new format for saved Cookbook recipes that we hadn't previously seen. Tasty Recipes can now convert these without a problem.
WPRM Converter Update
Previously, WPRM recipe blocks that didn't actually include a recipe were identified for conversion, but failed to convert (because there wasn't actually a recipe to convert). We now ignore these “empty” recipes and won't show the conversion UI when these exist.
PS. Integration with Tasty Links for recipe equipment!
Another plugin of ours, Tasty Links, is also getting a fun update today! That update includes a Featured Links block that lets you showcase your favorite products and links in your posts.
Today’s update includes the ability for Tasty Links users to have a similar Recipe Equipment section show up within their recipe card.
