Don't forget to update!
You should soon see an update for Tasty Pins v1.8.0 in your WordPress dashboard. Make sure to update to keep your plugin in tip-top shape.
Today we're super excited to be rolling out the most requested feature from Pinch of Yum. The Pinterest image banner is now available for all Tasty Pins users. Read on to learn all about this fun new feature that makes pinning your posts easier than ever.
The Pinterest image banner
The Pinterest Image banner automagically adds a Pinterest call-to-action banner on the first image in your post. This banner has been in action on the Pinch of Yum site for quite some time, performs really well, and the team gets loads of bloggers asking how they too can add this snazzy banner to their posts. Now it's as easy as the flip of a switch. And maybe a few custom color choices to get it looking really at home on your site. ✨
Here's an example of what it looks like on Pinch of Yum.

To enable the banner on your site, from the WordPress Admin, navigate to the Tasty Pins Settings, where you'll see a tab for the Banner.

In the banner settings, you have the options to:
- Turn the banner feature on/off
- Change the background color
- Change the Pinterest icon and text color
- Add a description that works best for your content (recipe, craft, trip, project, holiday, tip, resource, lesson, etc.)
Don't forget to save your changes!
Disable pinning for linked images on mobile
Recently, iOS started disabling links when you place an element over it, like a Pinterest hover button. ? This update prevents readers from clicking through thumbnails to get to a post. As a fix, we've disabled all Tasty Pins hover buttons on mobile, to prevent them from interfering with those linked images. Mostly you'll notice this update on your home page as post images generally aren't linked and are unaffected by this update. As always, please reach out to the support team if you have any questions!
Disable pinning for Convert Pro users
If you're using Convert Pro to power your popups, we've gone ahead and disabled all those pesky Pinterest hover buttons appearing on the popup modals. Now your readers will have a nice, clean modal experience.
