Don't forget to update!
You should soon see an update for Tasty Recipes 3.6.0 – Unit conversions for older recipes, print preview improvements, and more in your WordPress dashboard. Make sure to update to keep your plugin in tip-top shape.
Hey there! We've been busy making some updates to Tasty Recipes that we think you'll appreciate! Here's everything you'll find in Tasty Recipes 3.6.0:
Unit conversions for older recipes
Back in the Tasty Recipes 3.3.0 update, we released the US customary to metric unit conversions for new recipes. Now, you have the option to flip them on automatically for your older recipes! All you need to do is go to your Tasty Recipes Settings > Settings Tab and check the box!
Please keep in mind that this is a gradual process. The updating will happen in the background of your site. We're doing it this way to prevent everything from slowing way down during the updating process.
Detect Mediavine videos anywhere in the post
Tasty Recipes already added video schema whenever it finds a YouTube, Vimeo, or AdThrive video. Now, we pull in Mediavine videos from anywhere in the post for better SEO!
Reintroduce scaling and unit conversion in print preview
Previously, in the print preview, it used to only print the 1x option. We've updated it to include the other available scaling options for your readers.
Bold Classic add-on plugin
In Tasty Recipes 3.5.0, we moved Cook Time, Prep Time, and Additional Time down the card with “Other Details” to optimize for reading recipes on a mobile device. We understand some of you prefer keeping all that information at the top of your Bold recipe card instead. Please reach out to [email protected] and ask for the Bold Classic add-on plugin. Once you have that, you can just activate it alongside Tasty Recipes to pop all those details back to the top of your card!
Refactored clipboard quantities
With a little cleanup, we updated the ingredients copied to the clipboard to reflect the scaled version instead of just the original 1x version.
Filter: Half-recipe scaling option
Instead of having our standard 1x, 2x, and 3x scaling buttons on your recipes, you can have ½x, 1x, and 2x buttons! You can find this filter in our WP Tasty support documents:
Filter: Update default author name
Would you prefer a different default author? We now have a filter for that! You can find this filter in our WP Tasty support documents:
Filter: Update the default author name
