The latest version of Tasty Pins should be hitting your Dashboard soon! Here's what you'll find in Tasty Pins 1.3.1:

  • Hidden image support for categories.
  • Adds a character countdown indicator to Pinterest Title and Text fields.
  • For custom Pin button, accommodates when data-pin-nopin has been added with JavaScript.
  • Update the ‘EDD Updater' to v1.8.0.

Add hidden images to categories

This is a great new feature that lets you add hidden images to your category pages for pinning!

Just navigate to the Category page (All Posts > Categories > Select category), scroll down to the Tasty Pins block, and add your hidden category images — just like you would on a post. Easy peasy! Check out the video above for step-by-step instructions on how to add category hidden pins.

Character countdown indicators added to the Pinterest title and text fields

A small but mighty feature, we've now included character counts for Tasty Pins titles and descriptions! ? 

You'll find these character counts wherever you can add a Tasty Pin title or description: media library, Gutenberg image blocks, and default Pinterest title and descriptions at the bottom of your post.

For pin titles: You have up to 70 characters for your Pin title, but keep in mind the title field is in place for future support in Pinterest and to provide support for current features in Tailwind. Currently, if you add a Pinterest Title to this field, it will not appear on your pin.

For pin descriptions: You have up to 500 characters for your Pin description, but keep in mind only the first 30-60 characters will be visible in the feed description.

When using the Tasty Pins custom Pin button, we added some functionality to accommodate when data-pin-nopin has been added with JavaScript.
